U.S. Supports Inspector’s Report on Demobilization and Reinsertion Policies

The Colombian Inspector General’s Office (Procuraduría General de la Nación) released today the report entitled Monitoring of Public Policies on Demobilization and Reinsertion, made possible thanks to the technical and financial support of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). Its objective is to monitor the Colombian Government’s policies to assist the victims of armed conflict in Colombia. The event was held at the Crown Plaza Tequendama Hotel and was hosted by Inspector General Alejandro Ordóñez.

USAID’s Human Rights Program provided $187,500 dollars towards this project made up of four components: the right to the truth, historic memory and the preservation of archives; the right to a comprehensive reparation for the violation to the right to own property; a comprehensive care for victims, psychosocial care and mechanisms of participation for social organizations, and a follow-up of judicial and administrative benefits granted to the IDP.
