Locally Employed staff Health insurance contract presolicitation notice

The U.S. Department of State and U. S. Embassy Bogotá will be extending an invitation to all responsible sources for providing health insurance services for eligible local employees of the U.S. Government working in Colombia. Health insurance services will be provided for current local employees of the U.S. Government employed within the geographic boundaries of Colombia, and paid under the local compensation plan. 

Employee and dependent health service benefits may include but are not limited to hospitalization, surgery, doctor visits, prescription medicines/drugs, maternity care, hospital outpatient services, optical services, physical therapy, psychiatric treatment, ambulance services, and hearing aids. Certain out-of-country costs may also be covered. 

The solicitation is planned for release to qualified offerors in April 2012, with contract award anticipated in August 2012. The resulting contract type will be a firm fixed-price requirements contract with economic price adjustment.  When issued, ALL SOLICITATION DOCUMENTS WILL BE POSTED ON THE INTERNET AT FedBizOpps.gov (http://www.fbo.gov/) and in the US Embassy Bogota Internet Page.
