Announcing the 2012 Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund

State Alumni is pleased to announce the launch of the second annual Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund (AEIF). AEIF offers $1,000,000 to help teams of alumni tackle some of the world’s most pressing issues. In 2012, AEIF will award up to $25,000 per winning team.

3 Easy Steps to Start

Identify the themes for your country or region. Proposals must be submitted on only one theme.

Submit your proposal between February 27, 2012 and March 30, 2012.

Form a team by March 30, 2012 of 10 or more alumni (or current participants) of U.S. government-funded exchange programs. U.S. citizens are not eligible to submit proposals, but may join teams.

Browse proposals by region, theme or keyword.

Comment on proposals. Discuss, provide critiques and suggestions.

Revise your proposal and add team members. Proposals and revisions must be submitted by March 30, 2012.

Timeline

PHASE ONE:

• February 27 - March 30, 2012 Submit project ideas on State Alumni starting February 27.
• Browse submitted proposals, contact proposal submitters to join their projects.
• Discuss projects, provide critiques or suggestions. Revise your proposal and add team members. Final revisions are due March 30.

PHASE TWO:

• April 16 - May 10, 2012 Finalist proposals will be announced on April 16.
• Finalists will have 2 weeks to refine their proposals. Alumni will vote for their favorite proposals May 1 - May 10.

PHASE THREE:

• By May 16, 2012 Winning teams will be announced! Teams will have 12 months to complete their projects.
• Each project team will maintain a blog about their project.
