U.S. and Colombia Sign Cultural Patrimony Agreement
A bilateral agreement for the protection of cultural patrimony was signed in order to avoid the illegal traffic of cultural property. It seeks to reduce the looting of archeological and ethnological materials, to help to protect cultural patrimony through the development of appropriate policies, training of professionals and management of inventories, and increasing international access to cultural property through the exchange of material for scientific, cultural and educational purposes.
